The descriptions of the restrictions has been changed to reflect the restriction descriptions given in the WorldCat KnowledgeBase.

Registration for 14th Annual ILL Forum

Registration is now open for the 14th Annual VIVA Interlibrary Loan Community Forum!

The Forum will be held at Sweet Briar College on Friday, July 13. We’ll begin at 9:00 AM and wrap up at 3:15 PM. The complete agenda, registration, and travel information is available here: http://www.vivalib.org/illsubcomm/forum/index.html

Article Exchange document-sharing now accessible from within WorldCat Resource Sharing

The Article Exchange document-sharing site is now accessible from within the WorldCat Resource Sharing service and through an ILLiad Addon. Article Exchange continues to provide a single, secure location where lending libraries can place requested articles and library users can retrieve articles or book chapters obtained for them via interlibrary loan.

ILL Guidelines Revised (July 12, 2011)

The VIVA Steering Committee approved the revisions to the ILL Guidelines as recommended by the Resource Sharing Committee. The revised guidelines allow libraries to extend their loan terms beyond 8 weeks.
The revised section is Section III on Returnables. “Returnables, other than the special materials in Section IV below, will be loaned to VIVA libraries for 8 weeks or more with renewals granted on a case-by-case basis. Lending libraries may recall materials at any time, and borrowing libraries should respond in a timely manner.”
