Welcome, Mason Alums! On Saturday, October 5, University Libraries will take you back in time as Yvonne Carignan, head of Special Collections & Archives (SC&A), and staff share the recently-acquired, hand-written Mason Family Account Book kept by Stevens Thomson Mason (1760-1803) and Armistead Thompson Mason (1787-1819), the nephew and grandnephew of the university namesake George Mason. Other rare and antiquarian items from SC&A, such as a fine example of early printing, the 1515 Juvenalis Satirae, will be on display. Next stop, Bob Vay, digital collections and exhibitions archivist, brings you back to mid-20th century with the history of George Mason University Libraries. The last destination is the future as plans and renderings of the new and expanded Fenwick Library unfold. Please gather in the Fenwick Library foyer at 1:00 pm. Refreshments served.
