Campus Technology has recognized Mason Libraries with its 2009 Campus Technology Innovators Award! From a field of 349 nominations from colleges and universities around the country and the world, the Libraries’ Research Portals Project was selected as an exemplary technology innovation that benefits teaching, learning and research.
The Research Portals Project successfully blends open source software products with library research resources to create a “one stop†gateway for Mason researchers. The portals also serve as vehicles for collaboration and community between Mason’s Liaison Librarians (link) and researchers. “We’re reinventing the way librarians interact with faculty, meeting our audience where they are: on the web,” according to project leader Wally Grotophorst, Associate University Librarian, Digital Programs & Services.
The ongoing Research Portal Project is led by Grotophorst and involves Liaison Librarians on all Mason campuses. To learn more about University Libraries’ Research Portal Project, contact your Liaison Librarian or Wally Grotophorst (wallyg@gmu.edu).
