Going Global: Mason Librarians@IFLA

Three University Libraries library faculty members have a paper accepted for presentation at the International Federation of Library Associations’ Social Science Libraries Section Pre-Conference to be held at the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada, August 6-7.

In “Going Global: Facilitating Global Research and Education at GMU Libraries” LeRoy LaFleur (Head, Arlington Campus Library), Melissa Johnson (History/Public & International Affairs Liaison Librarian), and Beth Roszkowski (Public Policy & Management Studies Liaison Librarian), examine services and resources within the Mason Libraries and the larger Mason community that support the University’s international outreach and research efforts.

The paper reviews a number of University departments, centers and programs that promote global research and education with reference to library support for these types of initiatives. Additionally, the paper explores globalization trends and support in other university and library settings, and discusses the development of a research portal as a strategy for university/library collaboration. Lee and Beth will travel to Toronto to present.
